Why isn't my chapter showing up in the "Find Your Chapter" Portal? 

If your chapter is not appearing on the NHSDA website, there are several possibilities:

A. If you are unable to locate your chapter on our "Find Your Chapter" page, please try being less specific in your search. For example, if you attend Pretend High School for the Arts in Silver Spring, MD, try typing just the word "Pretend" in the school name field, and leaving the City and State fields blank as you run your search.

B. If the NDEO Institutional Membership affiliated with your NHSDA chapter has at any point expired, your chapter has automatically closed. Please contact an NDEO staff member (membership@ndeo.org) for assistance, we will reactivate your chapter for you. Please do not complete a new chapter application if your school has a previously active chapter in our online system

C. In 2016, the National Honor Society for Dance Arts transitioned to a new online system that required all Chapter Sponsors to manually activate their chapter on our new website. If you have not previously activated your chapter in our new online system, please follow the instructions below to do so:
  1. Go to the new NHSDA website. (nhsda-ndeo.org)

  2. Select "Start A Chapter" from the top menu

  3. At the bottom of the page, click "Apply to Start A Chapter"

  4. Click "Chapter Application" in the upper left hand corner

  5. Complete the Chapter Application and press save. (You will need your NDEO Institutional Membership Number to complete the application)

  6. You will receive an email within 1-2 weeks confirming that your chapter has been approved and re-activated.

How do I retrieve my username and password if I have forgotten it?

If you have forgotten your username or password for either the NHSDA or NDEO website, please fill out our NHSDA Username and Password Retrieval Form. An NDEO Staff Member will reach out to you with your login information. 

How do I induct students using the new online system?

Below are the instructions to approve students for induction on the NHSDA Website: 

  1. When you receive the confirmation email after a student has applied, click the “Member Login” button at nhsda-ndeo.org and log in using your NHSDA username and password.

  2. Click “Control Panel” just below your name in the top right corner.

  3. Click “NHSDA” under the “People” tab in the Control Panel.

  4. Select “Induct” from the menu on the right hand side of the screen.

  5. You will see a list of applicants. Click on the check box next to the names of students who have met the requirements for induction. Enter their points and GPA in the boxes provided.

  6. (optional) Below the list of names, add pins and cords to your order if you choose.

  7. Click “Save”

  8. If you are sure you want to induct the selected students, click “OK” or “Induct” on the pop up screen that appears.

  9. You will be redirected to ndeo.org to complete your order and pay for your order. Log in to NDEO with the Institutional Membership username and password for the NDEO website.

  10. Complete payment for inductions, pins and cords on the NDEO website.

I have students who are ready for induction, how do they apply online?

Before you can approve your students for induction, they will need to apply for induction online by following the steps below:

  1. Go to the NHSDA website (nhsda-ndeo.org)

  2. Select “Find Your Chapter” from the menu at the top of the page

  3. Scroll to the bottom of the page and click the gray “Find Your Chapter” button

  4. In the “Find Your Chapter” box, type in the name of your school or studio where it says “Chapter Name”

  5. Click “Search”

  6. Scroll down and locate your chapter in the list of schools below the map. Once you find the correct chapter, click the teal “Apply” button.

  7. Complete the Member Signup Form by filling out your general information, address and other contact information, and creating a username and password.

  8. Click the gray “Apply” button to submit your application.

How do I access a list of all applicants and inductees in my chapter?

You can view a list of all students who have applied for induction into your chapter since March 2016 by following these steps:

  1. After logging in to the NHSDA website (nhsda-ndeo.org) , click “Control Panel” just below your name in the top right corner.

  2. Click “NHSDA” under the “People” tab in the Control Panel.

  3. Select “Reports” from the menu on the right hand side of the screen.

  4. Verify that “Chapter Members” is selected. Click “Next”.

  5. Select “All Records” to view all students who have applied since March 2016, or select a specific dates to view students who were inducted during that time period. Click “Next”

  6. Click “Run Report”

How do I purchase pins and cords for previously inducted students?

If you choose to order pins and cords separate after processing inductions, you can do so on the NDEO Online Store directly at www.ndeo.org/storeYou must be logged in with your NDEO Institutional Membership username and password to find and order NHSDA Merchandise through the Online Store. 

All transactions must go through the Chapter Sponsor.  Students/Parents may not pay induction fees directly to, or order merchandise directly from, NDEO.

How long do NHSDA items take to ship?

NDEO guarantees shipment of items within 3 weeks of the date of payment. Expedited shipping may be offered for an additional fee, but is not always available. Please contact Tiana Chambers at tchambers@ndeo.org to request expedited shipping.

How do I request an invoice?

Please place your order online before emailing our Financial Director Vilma at vbraja@ndeo.org  to request an invoice.

Does NDEO accept purchase orders as payment?

NDEO’s policy is that payment must be received in full before certificates or merchandise will be shipped. A purchase order is not considered payment; a check or credit card payment must be received in order for NDEO to ship NHSDA certificates or merchandise. If you have questions or need to request a special arrangement based on your school’s purchasing policies, please contact Vilma Braja at vbraja@ndeo.org . Special arrangements may be made on a case-by-case basis and only in rare circumstances. Any special arrangement will result in a delay to your order, so please contact us at least one to two months in advance of your induction or graduation date to get the process started.
